MANAGING PARTNER
Since 2015, Alyssa has served as the Managing Partner of AJR Ventures, a strategic advisory firm for family offices and private equity firms through which she makes direct angel, venture capital and search fund investments.
She currently serves as the Lead Independent Director of Spring Fertility, a portfolio company of Wildcat Capital Management, and as an independent director of Together Women’s Health, a portfolio company of Shore Capital Partners.
Previously, she served as the Chief Executive Officer of Empower Aesthetics, also a portfolio company of Shore Capital Partners, a platform on which she served on the board of directors since inception and to which she returned to the board as Executive Director after turbocharging M&A activity with 8 acquisitions in 18 months.
Priorly, Ms. Rapp served as the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Healthwell Acquisition Corp. I, a $250MM special purpose acquisition corporation that IPO’d on the NASDAQ. Healthwell vetted over 100 companies and issued 14 LOIs in 24 months.
Prior to Healthwell, Alyssa served as Chief Executive Officer of Surgical Solutions, a B2B healthcare services platform providing non-clinical surgical services to hospitals, then owned by Sterling Partners. There, Alyssa led a successful turnaround of the enterprise, driving 21% sales growth with 90% customer retention, resulting in its sale to Grupo Vitalmex. While at Surgical, Alyssa was named a Top Woman in Healthcare by Crain’s.
From 2005-2015, Alyssa served as the founder & CEO of Bottlenotes, Inc., the leading interactive media company in the beverage industry. In that era, Alyssa was named in Inc. Magazine’s “30 Under 30” coolest entrepreneurs in America” and was consistently named one of the wine industry’s top 100 most influential people. Bottlenotes received the “People’s Choice Award” at the Empact Showcase at the United Nations, honoring the top 100 companies with founders under 35. Alyssa frequently served as contributor to national print publications and television networks (Forbes, The Today Show, etc.) as an expert on wine and entrepreneurship.
Alyssa served as a lecturer-in-management at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business from 2014-2022, teaching courses on the Global Dynamics of the Wine Industry and Managerial Skills. Alyssa became an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago’s Booth Business School in 2019, teaching a sold-out course annually on Women as Investors, Directors, CEOs and Executives, and the capstone course, Global New Venture Challenge.
In 2020, Alyssa also became an elected member of her hometown District 36’s (K-8) School Board in Winnetka, Illinois.
Alyssa earned a B.A. in Political Science and the History of Art from Yale University in 2000 and an M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 2005. She is the author of Amazon Bestseller, Leadership and Life Hacks: Insights from a Mom, Wife, Entrepreneur & Executive (ForbesBooks, October 2019).
When not immersed in business and civic life, she loves to Peloton, do yoga, ski fast, and try as hard as possible to decipher a slider from a curve ball from her husband, 1990 MLB World Series champion and current partner at X10 Capital, Hal Morris. Alyssa and Hal are the proud parents of Audrey Margaret Morris and Henriette Daniella Morris.
